NL Series Telescopic Pneumatic Masts

The NL Series of pneumatic telescopic masts features a 127mm base section diameter and is pneumatically operated by an air compressor. Shorter models can be easily operated using a manual foot pump.

These masts are heavier than the NK Series, allowing them to support larger head loads even in adverse weather conditions. While portable use is possible, their primary focus is on vehicle installation, either bracketed to the rear or mounted through the vehicle roof.

The table below showcases only a small selection of the available mast configurations. Thanks to the modular design of our pneumatic masts, we can provide custom-sized masts with or without locking collars, offering various colours and finishes to suit your needs.

Base Guy Assembly

Climbing Steps

Magnetic Safety Switch

Simple yet effective, the Magnetic Safety Switch is conveniently fitted to the outer tube of the mast and operated by a set of magnets positioned at the bottom of the inner mast tube. These magnets are securely bonded into an aluminum housing, which can be effortlessly inserted into the top section of the mast without requiring any dismantling. Inserting the magnet housing is a breeze – just remove the plastic end-cap of the top section and insert the housing. The neoprene ‘O’ ring automatically retains it in position, providing a secure fit.

SMC’s tailor-made mast covers are the perfect solution for safeguarding your mast from dust, dirt, rain, and other environmental factors during periods of non-use. Crafted from robust, waterproof materials, these custom covers are designed to snugly fit over mast collars and securely fasten to the mast using a practical strap. Top Guy Assembly

For enhanced stability in inclement weather, the SMC Top Guy Assembly includes an aluminium guy collar, D shackles, and 3 paracord guys with rope grips and nylon adjusters. Designed to clamp to the upper end of the second from the top mast section. Provides additional support during high wind speeds.

Vehicle Roof Bearings

SMC’s Vehicle Roof Bearings are essential accessories for securely mounting masts through the roof of your vehicle. The assembly consists of an upper and lower aluminium bearing, designed to ensure stability and ease of use. The upper bearing comprises three separate components: a flange with a Teflon ring, securely bolted to the vehicle’s outer skin, a tapping plate, and a weatherproof shield that clamps firmly onto the mast. This design guarantees a reliable and weather-resistant setup. The lower bearing base plate features a Teflon disc, allowing effortless rotation of your mast, and a thumb screw for locking it into position. For our NX Series masts, an optional locking collar is available. The base plate is securely bolted to the vehicle floor using four M12 bolts spaced on a 5.5″ P.C.Dia.
